This message will only be delivered when enough Switch owners actually buy them. Porting games of that level to a weaker system is relatively costly. So not meeting the sales target would send the wrong kind of message instead.

Hopefully us Switch owners will continue to be in the bying mood, like we have been so far 🙂.
