You don't think that has more to do the fact that it is a late HD port of an expansion to an even later released spin off 3DS game?
Like with the Dragon Quest XI we are talking more about a portable made version of the PS4 version releasing late but in a timeframe of months, not 3 years which is when the original non expanded version Monster Hunter X released. Dragon Quest will likely do well especially considering the bigger install base the Switch will have at it's release, it's only 1 million+ in Japan right now.
