That said, this interview took place back in April, so it's not like he had four months of data to go from, and he obviously didn't have a dev kit back then either.

He didnt mean literally.

He meant it hurt him, that he wasnt able to turn the company's mentality around.

Its a figuour of speech.

But yeah he could have said that differntly.

I'm aware of that, but the bolded sentence is the point. If you're supposed to be an industry professional, then speak and act professionally. It doesn't change the fact that it was in poor taste.
