For something like rocket league, well the game is "old" just like stardew valley, the diference is that those games have a lot of fans so it's good business for Nintendo and the developers and that's why Nintendo is promoting those games. |
And in the case of Rocket League, Nintendo actually has something new about it to promote: cross-platform play with PC and X1. The RL devs went out of their way to give the Nintendo version something new and a reason for consumers to purchase it on a Nintendo console, therefore Nintendo promotes it.
