Pokemon Sun and Moon sold a lot. That really helps the platform. I don't see why so many people think the updated versions of Sun and Moon were coming to Switch. Nintendo was wise to stick to the platform with the large install base.
Mark my words, the eighth generation of Pokemon (which will probably come out in 2019) will sell very well. It will only help the Switch's sales.
However, Nintendo does need to drop the 3DS relatively soon. It would be ridiculous and harmful for the Switch if the 3DS still had first party games coming out in 2020, for example.

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)
Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)
PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)
3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)
