No its not. Mario games are actually awesome without being overrated 
They are more like the Studio Ghibli but with serious mainstream apeal
OT: Most deffinatly. It looks by far the most ambitious Mario title ever 
This is the game that will sell the Switch to me My god the last trailer looked jawdropping :-o
