A turn-based RPG based on Zelda? The two main problems I can most easily imagine are capturing the essence of the series and having deep enough mechanics.
The exact nature of what makes Zelda is debatable, but there's definitely an emphasis on puzzles, secrets, and riddles in there somewhere. You know, the stuff that tempts you to use GameFaqs. This sort of thing is not as common in RPG's as it is in Adventure games, at least for non-optional content. I'm guessing that a large emphasis in battle would have to be using appropriate items and tactics for specific enemies, but the overworld might be harder. Maybe what Golden Sun did?
On the other hand, we have the fact that Zelda games typically star a single protagonist. Unless it's 1986, turn based RPGs tend to feature parties of at least three characters, and for good reasons. It could make sense to simply have a full ensemble of characters, with Link serving as the standard mute party leader. The party can contain both familiar faces (Zelda, Impa, Tingle, etc) and original characters.
