Because holy hell, dude. That doesn't need explaining it's so obvious.
Going back to your PS4 Pro example, are people rebuying PS4 games for PS4 Pro?

So you're going to use an exmaple of two systems that play the same discs as reasons why Nintendo won't make two systems that play two seperate discs.
Hey, quick question. Why doesn't the Switch accept a cartridge exactly the same size as the 3DS, and offer a means of backwards compatiblity with DS/3DS games? Let me answer that for you. Because not nearly as many people would be buying Mario Kart 8 deluxe for their Switch if they could buy Mario Kart 7 for and get a very similar game at a fraction of the price. Nintendo has a whole library of games that will make fairly easy ports that they can sell you all over again, so why wouldn't they?
Word is the main reason that Nintendo discontinued the NES Classic was because it was devaluing the games on the Virtual Console, which will soon be launching on the Switch. It's hard to convince people to pay $5 for SMB3 when it has a relative value of less than $2 on the NES classic.
It's all about the benjamins, make no mistake about it.

Um... are you sure it's got nothing to do with the fact that the last time I checked the Switch didn't have two screens...?
