See that's the thing. Everything you're saying is that Nintendo is streamlining its processes, but all of those things you mention don't necessarily point to one console going forward. A new handheld can be based off of the switch's hardware, which wouldn't "effectively be two different platforms". Making two very similar but seperate platforms, that allows for very simple porting between both platforms would accomplish all of Nintendo's objectives in doing all of this streamlining without destroying what has been a lucrative revenue stream.
You're assuming that all of this means that Nintendo is going with one console from this point forward, but that's not necesarily the case.
