Partly confused because to me they go hand and hand. Similar to when you are talking about console device you are going to talk about games. Sorry but piracy is part of emulation, that is why it is discussed with emulation.

Nope. Say your NES is broken, but you dump the ROM of your module of a game and play it in say Nestopia. In no step piracy is involved. You play your own game you paid for.

How many you thinking actually legally within the terms and definations, backup their NES, SNES, etc and use emulators, versus how many simply go to website and download it, or torrent the games, which is generally on the side of illegal, but not really enforcable, outside of the many fun times companies have enforced it.

An excellent point that also proves quite nicely that emulation and piracy aren't the same thing because otherwise all official backwards compatibility is piracy.

You see anyone bringing up piracy in Mini Nes or XB360 BC threads? VC threads? No.

If you look for a link to download Cemu however, you're bound to get it packaged with a cracked version of BotW. How is it not linked to piracy?

Agreed 100%, if we are purely speaking about console emulating their own product, no one will ever mention piracy.
