That's what happens when you change the formula in a previous installment. You alienate people from the next one.

Alianate for a while. If the feedback is good, they will bite later on and the game will have legs. IMO the biggest issue that plagued RE7 is the abysmal quality of 6, Revelations 2(as someone mentioned this was mostly down to bad business decisions), Umbrella Corps, Racoon City and the constant milking of older re-releases that didnt really do anything new for the series. 2.5 million first day shipment is still good. Lets hope for the continued good performance. For me 7 rekindled my love for the series.
