Depends in the case of Sony consoles yes. But the Wii did partially sell great because of the innovative hardware. In the end marketing and games sell a system otherwise the gap Xone between PS4 would be way smaller. The stronger hardware of the PS4 also allowed third party games to run better on the device surely that helped. Nothing wrong with boring hardware though.
