here are some of my favorites of the year maybe youll find someting you like the wailing (korean) the handmaiden (korean) train to busan (korean) elle (france) tickled (documentary) zero days (documentary) victoria (german) er ist wieder da (german) the invitation baskin (turkey) anomalisa (animation) as you can see the koreans are killing it this year.
also look for deathgasm if you happen to like slasher horror comedy and southbound both low budget but awesome. |
I've yet to get into the Koeran Cinema ''comeback'' so to speak (Haven't even seen I Saw The Devil... the last one I saw was the western Good Bad Wierd or something like that.) Definitely checking these out though.
I agree with HK movies. I'm a hugh fan, spent hundrens of pounds on DVD's from the different studios (Hong Kong Legends / Fortune Star / Dragon Dynasty) and its amazing how they still to this day a re-releasing a lot of the greatest ones. My recent pick up is the 4k remaster of A better Tomorrow. Its pretty neat.
its a complete shame the HK industry is dead.
