Pretty hard to tell, Sega went the CD route and still got beaten to a pulp, even more than Nintendo.
Nintendo would surely have the 64 performing better, maybe we could have had a toe to toe situation between the 64 and the PS1, or maybe the PS1 wouldn't even get that popular and fail together with Sega, or even the Saturn receive more support and perform better as well... too many possibilities XP

True. There's still something I'm in the dark about. PS1 is the reason Europe is such an important game market nowadays, so what would have happened to it if the PS1 was a failure?
