Well I'd argue Zelda 2 is an RPG. And it is undeniable there are a lot of RPG elements in the games, especially newer ones. BOTW seems to be the most RPG-like Zelda since 2. I'm not saying it is one, but there are reasons why I could see some mistake it for an RPG
