It's not that far off.
Besides I don't really view it as a bad thing per se .... most people's best gaming memories are when they are kids. Mine certainly are, Nintendo and childhood go hand in hand. Doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed by kids, but certainly Nintendo is very kid-centric, as they probably should be.
Even when you're at the store I mean the difference between walking down the Playstation and XBox aisle versus the Nintendo section is night and day, Nintendo's section has mascot/cartoony signage and lots of those styles of games, Playstation/XBox absolutely don't.
Every one of Nintendo's systems also is designed with the needs of kids in mind as a chief priority. Again not a criticism, just company policy. I mean kids like video games too, pretty sure you did when you were a kid. Not too many people get into this hobby after the age of 16.
