They're in no rush, there's no real pressure on them to rush it out.
Reveal it when the software is ready to be shown. With the 3DS seeing a resurgence now, Nintendo IP seeing a fresh lease of life on mobile *and* the opposition not offering anything new, exciting or groundbreaking beyond "more power!" they aren't exactly being pushed into a quick reveal.
