If Nintendo releases just one version it's like cutting your potential market in half. And if the point of it is attracting kids who have app store they don't want a console with Android - and vice-versa. Unless, there was a way that you could buy a NX and download the OS that you desired. That way everyone could be happy. The dual OS is nothing new to tablet makers like Teclast, so... |
It won't be "real" Android or iOS ... it'll still be a Nintendo custom OS, they just want the apps.
The thing is there's probably no chance in hell Apple would allow Nintendo to use iOS for free, whereas Android can be forked. Amazon and Blackberry already do this.
They both have the same apps that matter anyway, so it's not a big deal. If there is a iOS only app it would be able to be ported to the NX very easily most likely.
Or maybe they can even have right in the dev kit a way for Android/iOS devs to basically compile their Android/iOS app right into NX ecosystem with little/no fuss/effort.
