O hope not.
Being in the mobile market and making a boat load of money off of it like they are now is definitely a great safety net to have and I agree that if they maintain this momentum they built with Pokémon GO that mobile will very well become one of their main if not THE main source of revenue and profit for them in the future. But I don't want them to go fully mobile for a number of reasons. For one, mobile gaming, from a controller standpoint just plain sucks. Using a touch screen in a 3D Mario game to make Mario jump while moving with an analog stick that's... also on the touch screen? No thanks!
Secondly, how would they be able to make and sell games like Breath of the Wild, games that push the creative and interactive boundaries and limits of their franchises and bring to reality the type of world and games that the developers and their fans have dreamed of for a long time on a device that's the size of your hand and not on a dedicated console or gaming system like the Wii U/NX/PS4/XBO/ or PC?
I don't think we'd get games like that on smartphones and tablets and even if we do they wouldn't run or play anywhere near what they'd be capable of, they might get there at some point but that's waaaaaaay down the road.
