the president of gambia must realize this isnt a very good solution. like putting on a band aid after cutting your hand off. its not like he can cull them, since its not a genetic thing. it merely hides the "problem". i wonder how he wants to make stricter laws than in iran... as homosexuals in iran are likely to be raped and executed.
its an interesting situation when you look at it. homosexuality was rather common and accepted practice in africa prior to becoming colonies when laws were imposed regarding it. however much they like to talk about the throwing off of colonial rule, this attitude is generally something that sticks around in the former colonies.
