To be honest I think I enjoyed my Wii U more than the Wii. While the two Mario Galaxy games are outstanding achievements, beyond that I found Splatoon, Mario Maker, Mario 3D World as my other favorite games as they're on Wii U. Wii U also has the better Mario Kart and Smash Brothers which is not too shabby. And once you get used to Nintendo games in HD, you never want to go back, gimme HD over waggle any day, it never really added much to things like Mario Galaxy or DKC anyway.

Generally speaking though I won't miss the Wii brand (Wii or Wii U) much at all, did not like this era too much, the Wii U fizzling out completely is just the low point. Much prefer the N64/GCN or NES/SNES eras.

I'd still contest that overall Wii had better third party support than Wii U. In its 4th year Wii got Call of Duty, Goldeneye, Sonic Colours, Sonic Racing, Monster Hunter Tri, Sin & Punishment, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Red Steel 2, Epic Mickey, No More Heroes 2. In Wii U's 4th year it's getting... well, pretty much nothing. Hell, Wii had better third party support in its 5th year than Wii U had in its 2nd.

And while Twilight Princess was cross-gen, it was still released first as a Wii game and provided fans with an awesome new Zelda on launch day. Meanwhile, Wii U will be lucky to get a proper Zelda at all, and even if it does, it'll be arriving after the system's dead and buried.

I have no problem going back to the Wii now, in fact I've played my Wii more than my Wii U this gen. I'm the total opposite, I'll take the Wiimote over HD by a country mile.

Wow, I've just realised that I've been playing more Wii than Wii U this generation too.
