Well... I never bought a Pit amiibo but it works in Hyrule Warriors. In fact, only the Animal Crossing Cards and Shovel Knight Amiibo don't work in that game. Splatoon shouldn't have had any amiibo's in that game to begin with imo. That was a mistake. Sole reason, is that even if, the amiibo fucntionality was good, people would start saying what you are saying, despite it being a new IP. Despite many clamoring and wanting it to have just a tiny bit more of Mario and Zelda so they can just be like "Oh, another Mario/Zelda game!". At the very least Splatoon amiibo work across multiple games, and so does the Link amiibo. Of the 18 -20 games I know that are out that use amiibo, Link is used in 9-11.
Generally, amiibo functionality could and should be better, however, you are going on a tangent with the actual argument of it being a microtransaction. The link amiibo is also not really a good example. In the topic at hand its talking about an in game perk that uses an amiibo multiple times. In that specific example and really any example like this, the amiibo highlighted is one you can use over an over again for the same functionality. You don't need another for it. I feel people are complaining about one problem with amiibo and slowly merging it with other problems in the industry not related to amiibo whatsoever. The OP's issue is reasonable in the sense that what happens in the game is similar to other game functions in getting buffs and such. I acknowledge that because, clearly there is a comparison, but there are differences which I prevviously explained. You complaining, however, about one amiibo can't be used in every single game that uses amiibo, is not equal, is never equal, to an amiibo as a microtransaction.

You know, though, that it kind of does highlight what might turn out to be poor planning. What happens after another year or two of Amiibo releases? Are they going to really keep using them all and adding in new functions? Or will they pare them down, resulting in a decreasing use ratio for most of the niche figures? Sounds like a potential mess, to be honest, for a siutation that already needs a compatibility chart. Since this is basically the same as coming up with a herd of Day One DLC for each game, whomever is in charge of Amiibo must have quite a job.

Its not turning out to be poor planning that's going to have a potential, it is currently poorly planned idea that is a big mess right now. As I have said amiibo functionality could and should be better. Though I feel some, especially Smash, make sense, overall its potential that was mismanaged. That needs to be adressed.
That being said, I still feel that the general arguments such as the one previously said are disingenuous in the regards to microtransactions.
