I wouldn't be surprised if some of it is true.
To be honest, deep down I kinda know Nintendo will find ways to fuck this up, they always do, aside from having the Wiimote miracle stumble into their laps they haven't made a competently designed console from top to bottom since like the Super NES (relative to actual market conditions), and they're still a very out of touch company, especially with regards to the Western market.
But I'll enjoy I'm sure. If it's about XB1 graphics at 900p/60 fps that will be a nice sized upgrade on the Wii U and will be fun for Nintendo games. I think the slide means the average/standard gameplay resolution is 900p/60 not that that's the only resolution a developer could choose.
