Nope. MK is already fucked as far as characters go. The original idea was based on the concept of "what do people in the mushroom kingdom do for fun when they aren't involved in princess kidnapping/rescuing". Now that Link and Animal Crossing etc. are in the game, it's totally fucked up and doesn't need anything to make it worse.
The same goes for SSB. It was originally cool because we finally got to see NINTENDO characters beating the hell out of each other in combat. But I mean, when you throw in Snake and Cloud? Come on... it's just... it loses it's identity.
