This is a 9th gen console though. Why would they go and make it weaker than 8th gen??

Price, they gotta go low to keep appealing to casual audiences.

So take out the $100 Gamepad and you have a lot more funds for power.

But it will still be $300 - $350. The reason Wii U failed so miserably is because of the price and its currently cheaper than the competition.

Nintendo should release the best machine they can for around $250. People don't buy Nintendo machines for ports anyway and they won't get many even with the same/superior specs, they want the casual/family friendly exclusives.
