Nintendo home console usually have life span of 5 years, in NX home console arrive next year it will have life span just one year shorter than usual, original Xbox also had 4 years life span. |
They haven't said what it is and nintendo hasn't done any marketing on it yet. If NX is a home console, it will need whatever major nintendo games they can throw into the launch to have any chance for it to turn out good. If the release zelda on it instead, they could "bother" some of the nintendo fans. Also the majority of nintendo home console's gen lasted 5 years til the previous one released and the new one released. Nintendo hasn't deviated from that launch pattern in a long time. The wii u released at the tail end of 2012. So 2016 is too early even if you count releasing at the end of 2012 as a full year. 2017 or 2018 are the likely launch period.
