Assuming a 2016 holiday release for the NX?

There's no chance of a HUGE release, but I feel that there could easily be at least one game of note. Especially for a game that started development before the NX's release date was planned, or in a series that does well on older platforms. Here are a few possibilities:

  • Kirby's Return to Dream Land 2 - It will be a three year period between Triple Deluxe and 2017, enough to make a new Kirby platformer. HAL has also released Kirby games fairly late in a platform's life pretty regularly: Mass Attack came out for the DS after the 3DS and Return to Dream Land came out latter in the Wii's life. A push for NX development might not occur because HAL would have to go over a big HD resource gap, and Kirby is not much of a system seller anyways.
  • Mario Golf U - If Camelot has the HD assets for Tennis, they might be able to get a Golf game out. THis would be more likely for 2016,
  • Mario Party 11 - More likely to be for the NX, but the next Mario Party is probably coming out in 2017 for some platform or another.
  • Pokken Tournament - If the game uses hardware comparable to the Wii U, I can imagine a 2016 release for Japan and a 2017 localization to the West.
  • Rhythm Heaven U - The GBA and Wii iterations were fairly late, and this might be a decent budget release.
