It's to K-on what Madoka is to magical girl or Evangelion is to mecha anime.
It starts out as your typical club anime, cute girls doing cute stuff. I read the first two manga volumes yesterday and I think it's a new step towards the new age of anime (eva 1996, madoka 2011, Gakkou Gurashi 2015 : the spacing is speeding up)
