You don't have to wait a year or 6 month for Part 2 of Deathly Hollows... it's already available.

For new movies: just inform yourself if the story gets splitted and wait until it is complete if cliffhangers annoy you so much. Then you can watch all parts back to back and probably even save money due to price reductions of part 1. Most cinemas also offer double-features of two-parters if they are popular enough.
