Lucas and mewtwo are just characters that were planned as DLC and not just shoe horned into the game. Sakurai is talking about games that make you pay for vital game functions that should have been implemented in the first place. If that doesnt fit the game that YOU like, then he probably isnt talking about it. Just listen for once. If theres one company that makes sure a game is finished, its them. |
What's an example of a game that you would say is guilty of what Sakurai is decrying?

I'd say the some of the worst examples of DLC outwardly hurting the product are things like Batman: Origins which launched broken and spent dev time on DLC instead of actually fixing the game, to the point where they outwardly stated that they were working on DLC instead of the base game ( http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/02/10/warner-prioritizing-dlc-over-fixing-arkham-origins-bugs/ ).
