Physical copies for the most part don't have this issue. Digital is anti-consumer and physical is not.
I gave plenty of differences between physical copies of games and digital copies of games when you said there's ONLY one. I could of gave you more examples of differences between the two but I have other threads to post and converse in. Digital games will never be the future of gaming. An option or alternative to physical copies, yes but never the sole choice. |
The ownership of software(concepts in general) is different from ownership of physical entities.
There is a difference between ownership of a game(Something only the owner of the IP has) and ownership of the license to play a game.
Everything you have listed as a difference is simply just another aspect of limitations of tieing a license to an account rather than a physical disc.
The only thing you are collecting is a decorated plastic disc in a decorated plastic box.
There is nothing stopping you from trading virtual licenses other than the vendors. If you owned the game, you would be able to distribute licenses, just as if you owned any other content.
You buy a license that gives you the right to play a copy of the game. G
