What about the gameplay looks bad?

And according to the director the lighting, gun and character models, and textures have all been redone since E3.

The hand to hand combat in particular looks poor. I don't know why people are calling it "hack n slash," because it isn't. It's a glorified FPS melee attack that frankly looks rediculously overpowered. It doesn't look like there's a lock on system either, which is terrible in "hack n slash" games. The camera stays restricted, which is fine for shooters, but terrible for hack n slash games.

Then you'd at least think that all these hack n slash sacrifices would at least benefit the shooting, but the camera goes to first person every time you shoot most weapons. That makes literally no sence. They are making consessions for a TPS camera that is barely used, and in a high action action game like this, the constant shifts in perspective is disorienting.

The animations look terrible too, but you'll just say that it's because it was an early build. That brings me to my biggest point; if your game is so far from completion that it looks this bad, don't show it. Everything looks bad in the game from what they've shown. I'm not going to hope that the entire game will suddenly transform into something good just because the devs promise it. Sonic Boom's first gameplay trailer looked better than this game's, and they said the same things these guys are. It looks like garbage now, and I have absolutely no faith that it will get much better. They'd literally need to rebuild the entire game, and I don't see that happening because it would be financially stupid.

Actually, big red button never said they'd extensively upgraded sonic boom's graphics over the reveal trailer.

The switch in perspective doesn't look disorienting at all, TPS games do this with sniper rifles already. I can keep up with a change in camera angle, and I don't need a lock on to attack my enemies either.
