Because of what happened to SEGA. They barely shined last generation and their few gems were also made by other developers, such as the first Bayonetta. Of course, there's no guarantee that it could happen the same to Nintendo, but it's the theory of many guys.

I said it before in another thread but I'll gladly repeat it here, saying that all that's standing in the way of Nintendo becoming like Sega is their proprietary hardware is one of the biggest insults you could throw at Nintendo.
