Games that restrict you to ONE SAVE...why is this a thing?

They can make it so the game gives you a warning before you create a second save that says "If you create another save file you won't be able to trade" or something like that.  It sucks that I have to give up hundreds of hours to start a new game. I'd gladly trade trading (lol) to get multiple save files in this case.

That would be a possible solution to this problem, only the first save can trade.
