So you agree that 2 was the worst? I'm on board with that. Aside from the backstory and the introduction of Varrick, it was a pretty poor season: Korra and Mako at their worst as characters, Bolin reduced to a punch line and Asami to a punching bag for bad things to happen to, then the finale for the season, while an epic fight, hinged on "interventions" similar to the worst of what the major Shonen anime can put out (it felt like a Naruto or Bleach fight, in all the worst of what those series can do).

A punchline about domestic abuse, at that.

I thought Mako was actually pretty good that season, but I agree that it was by far the worst, other than the Wan episodes and the Iroh cameo. Unalaq was an uninspiring villain whose actions didn't really make very much sense. The final battle made no sense at all, and had a random Deus Ex Jinora thrown in. Korra reverted fully to angsty teenager mode.

I'd say 4 > 3 > 1 >>>>>>>> 2.
