Barozi, I'm not stupid, I'm not saying that MS should sell the X1 for 1$, my point was that there is more than discounting a console in order to have "More consoles = more games sales = more profits from games".

I see people in here saying "Nintendo should slash the WiiU price by 50$" like it's nothing... the basic model is at 200$, that would represent a 25% price cut! In real life you can't do that kind of radical actions just because.

Nintendo knows better than anyone in this forum the margins they have & wherre they are making money, don't you think?

They make the most money from their own developed games most of the time (N64, Gamecube, WiiU). Perhaps Wii as well since they sold so much Mario Kart, Wii Fit, etc. games.

Current problem on WiiU is that the userbase is so low that even their best selling games only give them a decent profit, instead of a great one.
If you know that the library of a typical WiiU owner is consisting of over 50% of Nintendo developed (or at least published) titles, then they should pursue a higher userbase.

Obviously they shouldn't cut the price in half or whatever, but a slight price cut along with some added value by including a game or heck even a small third party hard drive should do the trick. The holiday season is only once a year, but they don't really offer enough to make people go out and buy their console.
