that goes against many of the things Nintendo has said at recent investor meetings. they said that next-gen their devices will be more unified like "brothers" and that they will "absorb" the Wii U architecture and have different "form factors".

to me that doesnt imply a handheld that streams to televisions but rather seperate devices with the same architecture & operating system, similar specs and the ability to play all the same software.


As I said in my post, my interpretation of the fusion (because these are all just scenarios that people think Nintendo should follow) is of one device. They simply don't have the manpower to support two devices at the same time without third party support. I do not believe this is what is going to happen, and as I said, I don't think it is technically possible at this point. I just think it is a direction that Nintendo should look very closely into and possibly pursue it when the time is right. 

Also, I think youre wrong anyways. Future Nintendo consoles will likely not play the same games any more than they already do (or stuff like PS4/PSV like you mentioned before) and they will likely not have similar specs. That just means that they will have more connectivity, share accounts and stuff...more system level stuff as opposed to software level stuff. That is just my interpretation though...
