Does Microsoft owning Minecraft actually do anything???

Mojang has probably been developing both the sequel to Minecraft and other interesting games for quite some time, and MS most likely has some insight into the potential of those games. Not to mention, now MS will actually make money of the sales of their games on PC and playstation platforms :).
