Don't sports games usually do proportionally better on PS than on Xb? If that's the case then with PS4 user base being more than Xb one I would think even with the promo and bundle exclusivity it would still be hard for madden on Xb to outsell madden on PS. Also the difference may not be huge, PS4 version only has to outsell xb one version by one unit to "win" the month. I think people are blowing the madden thing out of proportion in terms of game sales. What is intriguing is that PS4 won by more than the 360-PS3 gap so the madden deal didn't do as much as hoped for Xb one hardware.

No...

EA which makes most sports games partners with XB more for a reason.

Only now is the PS userbase bigger in the US, that it looks like it does better. 360 vs PS3, 360 is not only bigger LTD US but bigger "sports" proportionally LTD USD irc.

You may be right for other sports, but for Madden I'm right. For madden 10, 11, 12 and 13 sales ratio between 360 and PS3 was around 1.2:1. As the hardware ratio in favour of 360 never fell below 1.6:1 it means all 4 of those maddens did proportionally better on PS3. The ratio is taken from North America madden sales, not USA, but given the hardware ratio for North America is still ~1.6:1 in favour of 360 I think the data is still legit. Basically all things being equal, if xb one had a slight lead over PS4 in the USA, you'd expect madden to still sell slightly better on PS4. So given Ps4 has a non-trivial lead it is a very hard road for MS to get madden to sell better on Xb one than on PS4. In fact if xb one sales are roughly equal to those on PS4 proportional to user base then that's actually a "win" for Xb one, i.e a net gain for Xb one.

Then maybe exclusive marketting does work.
