Not exactly. MHP is popular because of the WLAN connectivity when your out of the house. The console version of Monster Hunter can't have that kind of connectivity (unless you carry a Wii and a TV everywhere you go.)

 


Thats the fun part : you go out with a couple of your friends to a coffe shop . Order something to eat/drink . Sit there for 3-5 hours and play a couple of missions . Console versions can never make this happen , and online is way to impresonal to become as successfull as ad-hoc :)
