Eh, seems like the same problem that Nintendo often has. They keep doing what they are known for and everybody complains that they always do the same thing. They try to break out of their comfort zone and try something new and everybody complains that they should just make more Mario and Metroid (or in Ghibli's case, more stuff like Spirited Away and Ponyo)...
