Part 2: 3DS vs Wii U

Its important to recognize that I'm not saying Nintendo should drop the 3DS, they can't reasonably do that because its their only sufficient money maker right now. However, what I am saying is that the focus is not divided up evenly, favoring the 3DS when the Wii U is the one that actually needs help right now. When a company constantly touts software sells hardware, then it seems strange to consider Smash being on the 3DS to sell more copies then rather sell the system. So its most likely the case that Smash 3DS is to sell the system. But that is certainly reducing the system selling potentional of Smash, for Wii U and in general. Only a minority will buy the game on both platforms, and when you compare 45 million to 6 million, then the 3DS is obviously favored to have a large amount of the smash sales if not the majority.

Worse yet, not only is power being diverted to Seat Warmers(3DS) rather than shields(Wii U), Smash 3DS is unlikely to ressurge the 3DS after its peak and will push few systems relative to its system seller status.

Consider this from a platform only perspective divorced from companies and allegiances to those companies.

Both the 3DS and Wii U compete for attention from Nintendo, but only one of them gets the multiplats, and that one has priority (Hint: Its not the Wii U)

Both systems have Nintendo games, except not only does the 3DS not only have most of its own versions of Wii U games, but also has extra 1st party games like Animal Crossing and Pokemon and then third parties like Etriyan, Kingdom Hearts, and Fire Emblem

So really 3DS Vs Wii U is this:

Price, Games, Portability, 3rd Party support, 1st party priority vs Mario Kart 8

*Limited to this year, newer releases have more priority

Wii U: 2,32,34,38,48

3DS: 5,6,14,16,24,27,37,38,44,46
