The comment I replied to didn't mention anything about the poll being randomized or "it's at the end of a PS4 article, so people already interested in PS4 were the ones taking the poll". It merely said "it's only 5000 people, ignore it". Hence the presidential election example showing that you don't need a 1,000,000 person survey to be accurate. Also, with regard to potential biases (because it wasn't randomized), I also explained that just because you have a preference one way or another doesn't prevent you from reading particular articles. I've read up on X for WiiU and I look into XBone updates to be in the know regarding what it offers....I have no intention of getting a WiiU or Xbone at this moment in time, but that doesn't prevent me from reading articles related to them. So the "only people with interest in the PS4 are the readers" argument kinda doesn't apply. |
The content of the article puts a strong bias, also the site on which the article is posted or the simple fact that it is an online survey (as only some people answeer to online surveys). So don't lie to yourself, that this survey has a proper meaning. I'm with kowenicki here, probably both consoles don't sell a lot in china. But this market has potential for future growth, getting early a brand image in this market may be later a big advantage. Anyways, this surveys tells as practically nothing. I still would assume PS4 will be a bit more popular, but not based on this survey.
