Once there is an insignificant amount of people left you can impose a ban without people complaining. Right now people who doesnt smoke are taught to hate it. Same will happen with religion as science becomes more and more widespread throughout the world. At some point in time far far off, i think every religion will be considered a freakish cult like scientology is being seen now. Now people will always have faith but if we can learn them to channel that faith into humans instead of a man in the clouds or space or wherever we can truly progress as a species. |
You mean brainwash them. Then impose the tyranny of the majority upon the minority.
Let me clear up some misconceptions that you seem to have:
Religion does not oppose Science, the Church was executing their political power through control of religion.
Science can only flourish in a system where there is freedom of belief.
Religion does not affect whether or not we progress as a species.
If you actually bothered to get informed you would know that in America currently the concern over the Economic Crisis is what has resulted in the downsize of Nasa and the closure of the space program, not Religion, if you want to know whats really stopping progress, why don't you ask why the military gets so much funds while Nasa is languisihing.
