Absolutely agree. All the consoles were technically "winners" last generation. Whether or not that's good in terms of competition is a completely different story.

But in this case, I think we can easily say that the Wii U has lost. There's no way it turns much of a profit, if at all.

Wouldn't that mean PS3 was a huge loser last generation?

PS3 became profitable in 2010, and is going to be out on the market perhaps longer than the Wii U.

PS3 still has huge huge sunk costs associated with it. I think it is safe to say that it didn't and won't gain back the loss they made. However they recovered the brand in the end (Which is vital to the PS4's Success).  If you are going the idea that Total Profit=Success....PS3 is far from it, same with the original XBOX.

Can you send me a link showing that the PS3 hasn't recovered most, if not all of the original losses? Much appreciated.

Given that financial numbers are hidden will within division, and they have never truly done an amazing job of showcasing how much is lost per console. Same with Microsoft sadly. I will showcase the division however. Just please hold on for a bit, for me to dig up the information from past threads we have done on this site or neogaf. If anyother has the link off hand please post away.
