There is no denying that when Nintendo is on a roll, its killing it, and in some aspects they are industry leaders. 60fps gaming, and in most of their games QA tests, are among them, as all their AAA IPs are near flawless when released from a technical point of view.
But thats the thing. Not every genre needs a perfect 60fps, and many gamers are more then ok, with a small day 1 patch, because it never killed me the extra 2 minutes that I need to install it.The Mario franchises are prime examples why 60fps can be wonderfull (platformers, racers, brawlers), but in games like Uncharted or Gears of War it never bothered me that the action is at 30 fps.
On the downside of things is Nintendos still arhaic online and social integration, new AAA IPs and diversification altogether.
