As I said, some of those new gamers will convert to hardcore games later. All in all, I think the games market is in a pretty healthy situation, in that it's expanding in more than one way. @kingofwale: Do you think the number of so called "hardcore" games will decrease? The casual market is finite too, if all the developers were making casual games, that market would saturate and they'd either go out of business or start developing hardcore games again. Capitalism will ensure that as long as there's a market for hardcore games, there will be companies developing them too.

Of course I do. Right now I say there are more hardcore games (at least revenue wise) than casual games. But if that reverse (and it will in an alarming speed, Thanks to Wii), you will see that a company will make no more than 1 'hardcore' games a year, and then they will frankly make 0.
If the relatively hardcore gaming market we saw last 20 years was able to keep the gaming business alive, I have no question a more casual market will too, (in fact, it will do even better), just count me out.
