100k retail only would be a solid debut IMO, but it needs to push ~1 million lifetime for it to be truly worthy. AC4 didn't even come close to it and its an established brand and came out roughly at the same time.
Also, we still don't know just how good the game is. If its not a AAA+ piece of software I doubt that many will remain excited until the end of the year.
