X1 isn´t selling very good at all, but the thing is, PS4 is only selling decent at best aswell. They are selling comparatively bad in both UK and US, X1 is terrible in other territories and PS4 terrible in Japan. Trying to focus on PS4 "success" and X1/WiiU "failure" is naive since this whole generation is becoming obsolete fast after an amazing start.

Sorry, could you elaborate on how you see these consoles being obsolete at about 5 months after launch? I want to know how you got to this considering their comparisons to the sales of the previous consoles in the same timeframe after launch if possible

Absolutely. we have gone from a generation where we did not have smartphones, to this generation where they affect everything we do.

When I compare generations, I look at the best seller compared to the second best seller and so on. Comparing PS4 to PS3 and X1 to 360 is irrelevant since the leader of each generation changes.

By the end of june 2007, Wii sales stood at 9,27 million., where the sale-through was very high (alot of people bought Wii). When looking at the second place console, the WiiU ()as it stands now) it is selling far lower than 360 at the same time.

Looking at the third place console, X1 is being heavily outsold by PS3.

So every comparative console is selling less than its counterpart at the same time. This leds me too think that this generation will be a disaster sales-wise for all three. That is why we should focus on how we can make every console a success, rather than a failure.
