I knew this was a Nintendo thread before I entered.

Naturally, its a thread in the Nintendo forums and it says Nintendo in the thread title.

OT:

They cant release a new platform without software for it. You have to look at what Nintendo's main teams are doing, and what they have been doing since they released games.

EAD Kyoto

SDG1 wont have another game ready for launch realistically until 2016, because MK8 is releasing this Year.

SDG2 probably wont have another game ready for launch until 2016, because they have pushed out 3 games in the last 2 Years. AC: New Leaf, Nintendo Land and Wii Sports Club. They are likely developing a proper Animal Crossing title for Wii U as we speak.

SDG3 are currently working on Zelda Wii U.

SDG4 have released 3 games in the last 2 Years. NSMB2, NSMBU and Pikmin 3. Its likely that they wont have a new title ready for a good Year or 2.

SDG5 are the Wii Fit studio, and they just released Wii Fit for Wii U.

EAD Tokyo have just released Super Mario 3D World, so we wont be seeing anything new from them for a good 2 Years.

Retro just released DK Tropical Freeze and are also developing another Wii U game.

As far as Im aware, these are the "big" Nintendo development teams. Something from these teams will have to be ready for the launch of Nintendo's next console home or handheld.

Realistically, looking at Nintendo's own dev teams, we aint gonna see a new Nintendo platform for another 2 Years. 2016 is my bet.
